CELL PHONE REMINDER

CMY has a cell phone policy in deference to the holiness of Sanctuary space and general courtesy of cellphone use on Shabbat. We ask that all settings on phones be muted i.e. media, call, ring, notifications and alarm, in the Sanctuary space.  

Absolutely no taking or making calls or texting should be done in the Sanctuary space.  Please verify your settings BEFORE entering the Sanctuary space and Synagogue building.  If you are experiencing difficulties muting your settings, please check with a member of the AV (Audio/Visual) team in the booth for assistance if needed.

Use of phones to take notes or read scriptures only is permissible.  We place a high priority on holiness and not making Shabbat common. Therefore, we graciously request that if phones need to be used, please exit the Sanctuary and use headphones in the corridor and foyer. If you are in the Fellowship Hall, please excuse yourself from Oneg tables and use headphones in the corridor and foyer.

We encourage all to maximize the shared time and space and to speak face to face with each other rather than face to screen on Father’s holy, honorable and delightful Shabbat.

Be mindful of yourself and family without concern about violations by others.  Yet, if necessary, lovingly remind others of the holiness of Shabbat.
